Our Philosophy

Old and young hand in hand

We opened Sterling Wealth Management with the goal of becoming the investment and retirement planning firm of choice in Clark County by helping our clients build high-quality, customized portfolios with a disciplined approach to asset allocation.  As an independent planning firm, and through our affiliation with Commonwealth Financial Network®, we have access to thousands of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities with state-of-the-art research and reporting tools to help facilitate portfolio development for individuals, IRAs, trusts, businesses, and 401(k) platforms.

At Sterling Wealth Management, we believe entirely in the power of individual choice.  It is the reason we started our firm and why we selected Commonwealth as our broker/dealer. Having worked for several big-name Wall Street companies over the years, we discovered going big does not necessarily mean you get more choices. While these large firms offer quality investment products, they can often be driven by hidden corporate agendas and they may impose sales quotas on the financial professional helping you.

We don't think that's the right way to do business and that’s why be built our partnership with Commonwealth which supports our commitment to remain free to act in your best interest, without any pressure to promote proprietary products or strategies.

We believe in treating our clients as individuals and focus on the following principles:

  • Caring for our clients in the way we'd want for ourselves. We founded Sterling Wealth Management to be the kind of place where we'd want to be clients if we didn't already work here. We'd want to be respected, informed, and heard. We don't expect our clients to demand any less.

  • Knowing our clients and their goals. We understand that investing is more than just a numbers game because there are emotions involved as well. People assign different values to money and approach investing in many ways. The so-called best investments aren't necessarily the best for everyone. When we first get to know each other, we'll ask you a lot of questions so that we can learn about you as a person, and the tailor your investments accordingly.

  • Treating clients like people, not account numbers. One thing you'll notice about our firm is that we're friendly, down to earth and good listeners.  When you call us, it is not on a 1-800 number and you won't have to identify yourself to a new person whenever you have a question.  Having been in the business a long time, we've seen a lot of different market cycles and encountered a great number of situations that our clients have faced personally and financially. This has given us an excellent perspective that can help keep you deal with market ups and downs along the way.  When coupled with our expertise and resources, we can help resolve virtually any financial challenge that may occur.

  • Empowering clients to feel confident about their decisions. You don't have to know the difference between a REIT, UIT or ETF when you come to see us. We're happy to explain it to you if you're curious or just don’t know.  Some clients want to take more of a hands-on role in the investment process while others want little to do with it. Either way, our goal is to make sure you sleep easily at night and secure in the knowledge that your money is working effectively for you.

  • Practicing time-tested financial approaches. At Sterling Wealth Management, we follow prudent financial principles and treat your money responsibly. We monitor your portfolio's performance, so you don't have to worry and as your needs or financial picture changes, we'll work with you to adjust your course of action accordingly.
